If you answer ‘yes’ to any of these questions, please keep reading. If not, please keep reading!

  1. Does your company or organization hire IT Helpdesk positions?
  2. Do you struggle to retain new hires?
  3. Are you interested in partnering with DMACC to find good employees?

I would like to introduce one of our certificate programs and share how Workforce Training Academy (WTA) can help your company find candidates. Des Moines Area Community College’s (DMACC’s) WTA is a tuition assistance program for short-term certificates in high-demand industries. Our goal is to help adult learners start a career path with training that can take six months or less.

These training programs set students up for entry-level positions in various industries. Our certificates are launching pads where there is opportunity to grow!

IT Helpdesk Fundamentals Certification Program

To meet the demand for entry-level call center and service desk professionals, DMACC offers a short-term IT Helpdesk Fundamentals certificate program. This program familiarizes students with concepts of customer service related to common hardware, software, security and troubleshooting. This 15-week course prepares students to successfully step into Helpdesk positions providing support to internal and external stakeholders.

WTA’s certificate training programs are employer-driven which means that our programs are developed according to local hiring needs.

How does WTA benefit the Employer?

WTA works closely with students to help them identify a career path that matches their personal and professional goals. This happens prior to enrollment so students have a good understanding of their chosen career path. WTA’s Career Navigator prepares students for the job search. Employers can meet our students while they are in class allowing them to promote the organization and meet students! DMACC’s curriculum is competency-based, and students will earn a DMACC credential indicating they have met those competencies.
