Applications for the YPC Board of Directors Now Open
The Greater Des Moines Partnership’s Young Professionals Connection (YPC) is an exciting organization made up of nearly 550 young professionals (YPs) growing in their careers, exploring #DSMUSA and giving back to the community. YPC is able to meet the needs of its Members and help attract and retain young professionals to Greater Des Moines (DSM) because it is led by a dedicated volunteer board comprised exclusively of local YPs.
Leadership opportunity
Applications for the YPC Board of Directors are being accepted now through Oct. 21. Apply today to serve on the third most influential board in DSM for the 2019–2020 term.
The upcoming board term is one of exciting opportunities and challenges for the organization. YPC recently amended its bylaws, shifting the Board term from a calendar year running January through December, to a fiscal year running July 1 – June 30. 2019–2020 will serve as the transition year with Board Members serving 18 months from January 2019–June 2020 before their successors assume office July 1, 2020.
Current YPC President-Elect, Jessie Cruise (who will lead YPC as President during the 2019–2020 term), views this transition year as an ideal moment to shake things up within the organization and continue to innovate and implement new events that may need a longer lead time than 12 months. Current YPC President, Ryan Bruner (who will serve as the Past-President for the 2019–2020 term), encourages all YPC members ready to step up into leadership roles to explore open board positions and apply.

In November, the proposed slate will be put to an electronic vote by the YPC membership. The newly elected board will be recognized at the YPC Annual Gala Saturday, Dec. 1.
