GREATER DES MOINES, IA (Sept. 12, 2022) – Mahaska County and the City of Oskaloosa have joined the Greater Des Moines Partnership as economic development partners. The Partnership’s economic development team will assist the county and city on business expansion projects and relocation projects from outside the Greater Des Moines (DSM) region. “We are excited to expand our regional service area to cover Mahaska County and the City of Oskaloosa,” said Mike Swesey, Executive Vice President of Economic Development at The Partnership. “Companies looking to relocate to or expand in our 11-county region draw talent from throughout the region, so this will help create even more connection between Mahaska County and the other counties within our service area.”

The Partnership will represent Mahaska County on a national and international scale in terms of economic development projects, marketing of the region and more.

“We are stronger as one region, and excited to plug into The Partnership’s regional network,” said Mark Groenendyk, Mahaska County Board Chair. “The Partnership takes a collaborative, public-private approach to economic development that will make Mahaska Country stronger.”

The Partnership also serves Adair, Dallas, Guthrie, Jasper, Madison, Marion, Marshall, Polk, Poweshiek and Warren Counties.
